TSS Defeat AIC Premiers St Laurence’s College 8-1

In TSS’s first mid-week duel this term, the First IV took on an in-form St Laurance's team. Lauries came down with the confidence of securing the AIC Premiership and qualifying for the state team carnival held in Rockhampton later this year.

The match started with all 5 singles matches and it was a very disciplined start by the TSS boys, dropping a maximum of 2 games each match. The scores across all 5 courts were:

#1 Jack McCarthy def #1 St Lauries 6/2

#2 Alec Braund def #2 St Lauries 6/1

#3 Max Ashley def #3 St Lauries 6/2

#4 Timmy Yeung Packer def #4 St Lauries 6/1

#5 Nicolas McKenzie def #5 St Lauries 6/1

The reverse doubles was a tighter affair, with the TSS #1 pair of Jack McCarthy and Timmy Yeung Packer winning against the #2 Lauries team 6/3, but the Lauries #1 team got on the board against the TSS #2 pairing of Alec Braund and Nic McKenzie, edging out our boys 7/6. The last matches of the day were the #1 doubles from both teams and the #2 doubles from both teams. TSS finished strong in these matches, closing out the 8-1 victory with two 6/0 sets.

The boys are on the early morning bus against Toowoomba Grammar this Saturday and look to keep their undefeated streak alive. Go TSS Tennis!
