Match Report
The Southport School 9C vs  Brisbane State High School
On: Saturday, 11 May 2019
Venue: Away

The 9Cs were performed as a totally different team this week not only because some players returned to the side after a week off through injury or holidays but more because all players played much better than the week previous. The first half saw Brisbane State High strike first with a lucky opportunity but we were looking dangerous with Lachlan Marriot hitting the upright with a long range shot and then eventually George Power found the back of the net. We had many opportunities in the second half with another shot hitting the cross bar but luckily rebounded to see Judd Andrews finding the back of the net. George Power also created another opportunity and was fouled inside the box but we failed to convert with a missed penalty kick. Unfortunately Brisbane State High struck back late in the game to draw the game and in the dying minute we had an open goal opportunity that again saw our shot hit the crossbar. Overall our team was the better team on the day due to some amazing defence particularly Charlie Dawson but at the attacking end of the field we just couldn’t convert our opportunities. Players Player went to Lachie Marriot on 7 votes closely followed by Jett Morris on 6 votes and Cooper Cowan with 3 votes.
