Good luck to the 65 swimmers making the short journey to Brisbane this weekend, to represent Team TSS at theQueensland Short Course Championships. This is a fast and furious three days of racing with a big programme condensed into only three days. Swimmers need to be organised and tough to succeed on a busy weekend. Look out for further updates on our progress over the weekend.

Club Night #3 was a huge success with Blacktips and Crocodiles having a great time Friday night. From war cries to dancing and singing and even a little bit of swimming. The 25m kick league is proving popular with swimmers wanting to know their new rank and 17 swimmers kicking faster than they did two weeks ago – well done! Please see Mandy and Mel for the latest update of the kick league.

Thank you Crocodile parents for putting on an excellent show – we really appreciate your help running the evening.

The next Club Night is Friday 25thAugust. Blacktips and Crocodiles will be competing on all four strokes – get practicing in training.

Blacktip parents it is your turn to help run the night. Please see Mandy if you are able to help out for an hour or so – many hands makes light work J

World Masters Update:

John Crisp’s trio of Masters Swimmers have been setting the World Championships on fire in Budapest. All three ladies claiming Gold in the 800m Freestyle and Silver in the 200m Freestyle, in their respective age groups. Their racing continues this week and there will be a full report next week.

DT’s Tip for the week:

Remember you are in charge of your training, your racing, your studying, your bedtime…everything. You are in control and you make all the decisions. This weekend, decide to go for it and swim fast.

That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy, you will have to work for it and you will have to do something you’ve never done before. Swimming fast is tough but it’s up to you!
